Well, we made it back safe and sound from sunny (and chilly) California! We were delayed by about a day; unfortunately, due to fog in San Francisco. They delayed our 11:30am flight until late evening. This would have caused us to miss our connection in Las Vegas and potentially get home in the wee hours of the morning. So, we opted to stay one more day. Luckily, the next day we were able to fly out with just a short delay. We made it home a little after midnight Friday night.
You can read about our fun on my sister's blog here. Then, just keep hitting 'Newer Post' until you see our second departure at the airport! :) Thanks to A and J for blogging for me while we were gone. A couple of highlights from the trip.... the nail techs at the nail salon were amazed that A, H, and I all "have the same face"... the yummy food that A and J prepared at home (they are very talented in the kitchen)... the 30th birthday celebration for my sis... riding King Kong at Six Flags (I'm fortunate that my head is still attached to my shoulders)... and the bum telling us how to fly a kite in Sausilito!!
So, we are home and back in the grove. H is in camp this week at her school. She is taking photography in the morning and gardening in the afternoon. Each evening, she has swim team. Swim team is an entirely different topic. I struggle with this, but she is determined to do it. Tonight is her first meet. We'll see how she does. She still, has yet, to swim the length of the pool. She is definitely improving, so the practices are helping her immensely. But, she struggles. This is hard for her. I'm really proud of her for working hard at it and sticking to it. (I'm more than ready to quit swim team though!)
E is a bundle of energy as usual. His new favorite thing is to get right up close to your face, point his stubby little finger to the tip of your nose and say, "Nose?"... it's like he is asking a question. Super funny. He is still infatuated with Elmo and we are SICK of Elmo. :) Unfortunately, he has caught some sort of cough virus that's been floating around his classroom. Daycare called me today to let me know that he had a fever. So, we are at home now. We will be going to the doctor this afternoon.
Back to life as usual!! :)
